This is a Rare Antique Remington Early Production Type I, A.K.A. The Double Derringer. Remington produced around 150000 model 95’s between 1866 and 1935. There were only around 1600 produced before the addition of an extractor. Making this one the hardest to find for collectors. This type is marked “E.Remington & Sons, Ilion, N.Y.” on one side of the barrel rib and “Elliot’s Patent Dec. 12, 1865” on the other. Later models would see the addition of an extractor and the barrel address moved to the top rib. This has a 3” barrel, is chambered in .41 rimfire and has a spur trigger. There are a a few light handling dings and almost no original finish left. The grips are in fine condition. Mechanically it is still very strong with the action working and cycling as it should. The hinges are intact. There is a slight play in the lock up which would be a fraction of a millimeter. These were carried by many people in the Wild West as they were easily concealed. Wild Bill Hickok is said to have carried a pair of these at times. This would make a great addition to a Remington collection and could be the centre piece to any collection. this is an antique so no PAL is required for purchase. I have a slightly used slip, only ever had diesel in it. A little big for what I need, it has cam locks for easy hose disconnect, filter housing, and I have a swivel I can also throw in. Winchester Lever Action Repeating Rifle, .38-40 WCF, mfg. 1890. This is a good honest original ‘73 fresh out of a very old local collection. Standard length 24" octagon barrel retains it’s original dovetailed blade front sight and adjustable buckhorn rear. The metal has a mottled dark gray patina overall with some traces of original bluing remaining within protected areas around the sideplates, trigger, and along the dust cover rail. Sharp edges with generally smooth surfaces throughout. Some very light surface oxidation spotting forming toward the muzzle. The stock retains about 40% factory varnish with the balance worn to a pleasing dark untouched patina. Tight wood-to-metal fit with moderate wear overall and a just really honest, unmolested appearance. There is some very minor chipping along the edges of the butt and a super tight old 1" hairline crack at the front left side of the forearm. Original hammer, trigger, lever & locking nut, loading gate, dust cover, buttplate with trapdoor compartment (cleaning rod absent), forend cap, and magazine tube & band. Screws appear to be original. Crystal clear original barrel address, caliber marking, model designation, and serial number "336159" on lower tang. Action is very smooth, crisp, and secure and functions perfectly. Rifling is worn and pitted at the very tip of the muzzle but otherwise the bore shows good rifling overall with moderate/heavy blackpowder frosting and pinprick pitting scattered throughout. A very solid original '73 Winchester with a great Western look..
