I did not get the 'go' gauges as that defines the minimum headspace and I was looking out for headspace growing with usage of the gun. Primarily for when I was searching for guns to purchase.  The field gauges indicate maximum safe headspace in used guns, i.e. slightly larger than the SAAMI as manufactured. If a 'Field' gauge will chamber, don't shoot the gun.  I'm not sure if I ever actually used these. They are in as new condition. Selling/trading a Winchester Model 1886 in 45-70. Overall it's in nice shape. Made in 1896, 24" barrel, button mag (possibly original?). Bluing has been redone in a hot blue and is in very nice shape throughout with only light flaws here and there. Wood stocks have been refinished as well and are in good shape. Bore shows pits and wear but is in shootable shape. Comes topped with a set of iron sights which don't look to be original. A nice shooter grade rifle. Looking for $1895 shipped.
