Bouviers are historically a 'guardian' dog - which means they are a dog who will work independently to care for a flock. What this means for them as a pet they bond with their families and want to stay right with them at all times. This is a nice feature as it tends to make the dogs want to naturally stay home with their people - so a LOT less wandering than some breeds! We have been lucky to have owned and bred Bouviers for many years and we have found that once a person has had one of them they tend to want to continue to have one as part of their families and folks will contact us hoping for another one.
