This is a Budapest M95 steyr (mannlicher) rifle chambered in 8x56r. It is an arsenal force match SN 5988H. Straight pull bolt action, 5rd clip fed (1clip included with rifle). History: prior to WWII the 1895 mannlicher rifles were cut down to carbine length and rechambered from 8x50r black powder to the more powerful 8x56r smokeless cartridge which is indicated by the “S” on the barrel and score line on receiver and barrel. There is a few variations of these rifles most commonly having the “M95” engraved on the receiver with a “steyr” or in this rifle’s case “Budapest”

Up for consideration is a very nice collectable Harrington and Richardson 45 Calibre Black Powder Rifle. The rifle itself is in very good condition with a few tiny storage marks on the metal and the wood. If it's been fired, it's probably only been a couple of times. I have not fired it myself.
