Original rear ladder site is in excellent condition and functions perfectly,the action is super smooth with a solid lockup. A very nice example of Winchester Canadian Naval History! This is a Tranter Model 1863 Single Action Revolver Chambered in .455 centre fire. The majority of the model 1863’s were a double action with only a few hundred being produced in single action. Approximate serial number range for the single actions are between 4000 to 4500. This item being serial number 4010 would make it one of the first to be made of this model. The single actions were mostly produced in .442 rimfire, it is not known how many were produced in centre fire making this even more rare. This item has a 6-1/2” barrel with Cogswell & Harrison London retailer address engraved into it. Birmingham proof marks can be found on the barrel and frame. The firearm retains around 85% of the original finish. The checkered walnut grips are in excellent condition with a few very light dings. Mechanically it is in excellent condition and functions as it should. This is a very attractive English revolver that would fit well with any antique collection. this is an antique to no PAL is required for purchase. Buyer must be 18 or older and able to prove it. Produced in 1944 by the Gustloff-Werke arsenal. An authentic battlefield survivor that participated in the final years of the War. Eagles and proof marks stamped throughout the firearm. Bolt is mismatched when the firearm was reassembled at the later stage of the war with mounting pressure in production. Other parts come with two sets of matched number. One from the German factory, one from Israel. All numbers are stamped. Not some electric penciled crap. After the War it was sent to Israel, reassigned a serial code that we saw at least 4 parts matching, but retained its 8mm Mauser chamber. Very good bore and rifling.
