A complete example of the relatively rare, .577 calibre, Pattern 1856 British percussion cavalry carbine, this one made in 1861, and Tower marked on the lock. It has the cavalry sling bar and ring, captive ramrod and three leaf, flip-up, rear sight calibrated to 100, 200 and 300 yards. In 1856 the cavalry carbine was authorised by the British government, and was based upon the carbine in service with the East India Company at that time, known in service as the East India Service Pattern.  The bore is shiney and the rifling is crisp, with minimal pitting. The woodwork is in good shape for a 164 year old piece. As is not uncommon with muzzle loaders with captive ramrods there is some chipping to the edge of the ramrod channel in the forestock; see the pictures for this. If picked up locally I will add some period correct.'English' cartridges, with production of a current PAL . I am not looking for trades, unless you have a reproduction Parker Hale Whitworth rifle plus cash difference. No PAL required to own this antique firearm. This is an excellent single action Smith & Wesson New. Model 3 in .44 Russian. This is an early production pistol as noted by the 4 digit serial number. This pistol is in superior condition given its age. The mechanics are excellent and the bore and chamber, though showing the typical evidence of black powder use, are in extremely good condition with strong rifling. Some original blue remains in protected areas with the balance faded to a very nice patina. It comes with a rare and highly collectible H.H. Heiser 3 loop antique holster which is probably not as old as the pistol itself. Overall, a highly collectible and desirable pistol. As with all antiques, no PAL or registration is required.

Reluctantly, I'm selling a highly collectible and uncommon Smith and Wesson 1st. Mod. Double Action in .44 Russian. Obviously, given its age it's a re-blue but beautifully and professionally done. It has genuine stag horn aftermarket grips. Most importantly, the mechanics are excellent in all functions; timing, advance, lock-up, half-cock, single & double action, and ejection. The bore and chambers are exceptionally nice with only the faintest traces of use and the rifling is strong. It comes with a vintage belt holster as pictured.
