Valmet Jyvaskyla Standard . 22LR Competition single shot bolt action.
27.5" heavy competition barrel.
Adjustable butt plate and set trigger.
Friction T channel sling slot. Profiled competition heavy stock for right handed use.
Bushnell 3-9 x 20 scope with dovetail rails on receiver. Drilled and tapped for rear sight with front sight mount.
VKT (Valmet), or the State Rifle Factory became operational September 9, 1928. Since 1930 Valmet's factory rifle club was active as well, having their hand in the design of the Finnish Lion, together with Aimo Lahti, the chief designer.
2. The Finnish Lion has the longest manufacturing time of all Finnish guns, from 1930 to 1979. Models are: M30 (prototype), M31 mod I, mod IIa, IIb, IVb, IVc, M35, M45, M52, M55, M59, M62, M65, M70, M200002 (Finnish Lion Standard) and wild boar version. Heavier models were the Finnish Lion Match and Champion. Two lighter version were also made, Junior and Pikku Leijona (Little Lion).
3. Serial numbers start from #1 (1932), and end into # 14,358 (1979).
4. The bolt and trigger are said to have been ahead of their time. The lock time is fast. Also the barrels were accurate. Champion models should have a set trigger, which makes lock time longer, but reduces pull weight.

6. The Helsinki Olympics in 1952 was the prime time of the Lion. A quarter of all shooters shot the Lion, prone gold was won by a Romanian - a Mr. Sirbu, score 400.
