As the title says. Just got my pal this year and am going to learn to hunt and hopefully in the next couple years fill a freezer with meat. I’ve been plinking with a .22 for the last couple months but now I’m looking for a good (but affordable) bolt action rifle, scope, also looking for advice on hunting in general and gear recommendations. If you have a rifle or scope that’s just sitting around let me know, I’ll take care of it and use it well. Budget is $750. Looking for .308 .30-06 calibre. Selling/trading a Parker Hale Super Safari in .308 Norma Magnum. Overall it's in very nice shape. 24" aftermarket barrel built on a controlled round feed action. Bling is in nice shape throughout, a few light spots of fading here or there - nothing major. Wood stock is in very nice shape with fine checkering and a high gloss finish. Looks to have been shortened and then extended with a rubber piece at the end of butt as seen in pictures. Sling studs have been relocated forward of the original holes with the holes filled. Bore is very nice. Comes topped with a generic 3-9x40mm scope. Overall a very nice rifle. Looking for $1095 shipped. Insurance by request on buyer. Open to all trades. SOLD. $800 Not sure of the year but guessing from The 70’s. Real low round count for the age. Sounds like it sat in a safe for over 30 years with a good coat of oil. Excellent condition. Only thing I’ve changed on it was the butt pad. The original was rock hard. Put a rubber butt pad that absorbs some recoil. Scope is nothing special. Red Ram 4x32. It was still zeroed for 200 when I took it to the range though. If I was keeping it, think that’s the only thing I’d change but this would be a perfect starter hunting rifle as is. .308 win still reasonable $ and will put down most big game if you know how to shoot. Have seen some other PH listed on here before that are not in nearly this condition for $700. This one is like new. Asking $800. Text is the best way to reach me. I can’t always take a call.
