Due to the increase in patient volume with the addition of the general surgeon at the clinic, Barrhead Family Clinic is seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and experience with electronic medical records systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Greet patients and assist with check-in processes. • Schedule appointments and manage the front desk operations efficiently. • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, (Telus MedAccess.) • Handle phone calls addressing patient inquiries and directing calls as necessary. • Support healthcare providers by preparing examination rooms and assisting during procedures when needed. • Perform administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies. Skills • Proficiency in administrative tasks within a medical office setting. • Strong understanding of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient information. • Ability to operate phone systems. • Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service at the front desk. • Experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred but not required. • Proficiency in English is required.
