Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1821 Canadian Artillery Officer's Sword – no Scabbard Savage and Lyman Montreal Sword This company name was used by the Montreal silversmiths Savage and Lyman between 1868-1878. The left side of the blade immediately in front of the guard Is marked Savage & Lyman Montreal Within the engraving on the left side is a Crown.  Believed to be indicative of Queen Victoria. The right side of the blade has a small brass insert which says PROOF.  Wilkinson Sword introduced these Proof Discs in 1844. In the engraving on the right side of the blade is the word ARTILLERY The guard is steel and has fish skin wire bound grips with most of the fish skin having been worn away.   Length of Sword – 40 1/2” Length of Grip including the Guard – 5 1/2” Blade Length – 34 1/2”   Savage & Lyman Montreal (or Savage & Lyman and Company) were manufacturers and suppliers of swords, known for military pattern swords like those for Canadian militia units (e.g., 1st Battalion Chasseurs Canadiens), marking them as producers/sellers, though like many firms, they likely had blades forged elsewhere (perhaps by specialists like J. Martin in Montreal) and then finished, hilted, proofed, and sold by Savage & Lyman in Montreal, a common practice for armsmakers then.  Key Points: Evidence of Manufacturing: Swords clearly marked "SAVAGE & LYMAN MONTREAL" exist in museum collections, showing they were a recognized name in arms. Role: They functioned as an arms dealer and supplier, customizing and selling weapons for Canadian military and militia. Production vs. Supply: While they might not have forged every single blade from raw steel in-house, they were responsible for the final product, including proofing and adding their own markings, as seen on a 1885 Chasseurs Canadiens sword. Here is a 1989 made Ruger Red Label 12ga 28" over under double barrel shotgun made for Ducks Unlimited. The bores are clean and bright and they have 3" chambers and 5 screw in choke tubes. What I love about this Ducks Unlimited it is nice and NOT so ornate you dont want to use the gun. I owned it since new and I used it a few times and it hardly used based on the condition inside and outside as you too can see. The gun's action locks up tight and the wood and metal are fabulous and NOT overly decorated and I do like the game scenes on the receiver as they are nicely done. The gun has ejectors that spit out spent fired shells and a 14.25" length of pull and the gun will come with the Ducks Unlimited hard case shown. It is hard to believe this gun is 37 years old as it is stunning and in fabulous condition!!!

Looking to sell my Weatherby Vanguard in .243 Winchester. Comes with the Bushnell Engage 3-9x40 optic. Awesome shooting all around rifle. It excels on getting packed around the mountains or long walks around home. Very well taken care of. It’s hammered everything from beaver to antelope to moose and elk. 6.5x284 is a very capable flat shooting round that is used by Gunwerks for their long range setups. Vortex Diamondback BDC 4-12x40 is in great condition with vortex lifetime warranty. The hash marks make bullet drop compensation super easy. I shot my antelope with it at 510 yards. 7lbs 1 0z all in fully loaded, super light. Awesome sheep gun. Comes with extra bullets, once shot casings, and a die set for reloading. Ruger No1 in 30-06. Excellent condition. Bore and crown are pristine. A few scratches and dings on the stock from use. This one is a beauty to shoot and was my go to gun on the farm. Very accurate and indeed a must have for collectors of Ruger No 1's. This gun was made in 1990 according to the serial number.
