Cosmetically this unit is in mint condition, I would say it’s a 9.5/10. Priced to sell. These sell for crazy money, working or not. This hefty “Boombox” is actually comprised of 3 separate components held together by metal brackets and 2 detachable speakers. The heavy duty handle is removeable. Weighs 30lbs without batteries! Runs on AC or optional 10 X D cell batteries. Has 3 sets of RCA inputs, 1 is a dedicated phono input (built in MM pre-amp) and 2 are for a CD player, etc. The sound that pumps out of this thing is nuts. Components have had all the switches and pots cleaned with DeoxIT. Tested and everything besides the tape deck is working as it should. Also tested with a turntable. *Note: The tape deck is not functioning. Just had the belts replaced professionally and they noticed that one of the idler wheel assemblies has an issue. They tried to correct the problem, and it worked for a few days, then stopped working properly. Brought it back to them and they told me that it would need to be replaced. The windage adjustment of the rear sight was also dispensed with, and the cocking piece was changed from a round knob to a serrated slab. Rifles with some or all of these features present are found, as the changes were implemented at different times in different factories and as stocks of parts were depleted. The magazine cut-off was reinstated after the First World War ended, and not entirely dispensed with in manufacturing until 1933. The SMLE Mk III* (renamed Rifle No.1 Mk III* in 1926) saw extensive service throughout the Second World War, especially in the North African, Italian, Pacific and Burmese theatres in the hands of British and Commonwealth forces.
