When the civil war broke out President Abraham Lincoln asked his friend Louis Kurz to visite the scenes of action and create a record of the fighthing. The lithograh is Kurzs interpretation of the battle. Battle of Nashville, fought on December 15-16, 1864, was a decisive Union victory that effectively ended Confederate General John Bell Hood's Army of Tennessee as an effective fighting force. Union forces, led by Major General George H. Thomas, launched a massive assault that shattered Hood's army, which was significantly outnumbered. Barreled Action The action is used in the ANSCHÜTZ Luxus repeaters 1416/1417 and 1516/1517. This is a bolt action with cam cocking, claw extractor, additional cartridge holder and ejector. Telescopic sight mounting is by an 0.43" wide ANSCHÜTZ Wave Style V-block dovetail rail or by additional drilled and tapped holes. The sliding safety catch onthe right hand side blocks the trigger sear in the safe position and simultaneously lifts the trigger sear and bolt release latch.
