This is a 1940 Ishapore made No 1 MK111 ( not a MK111*) with mag cutoff and period correct RFI stamped bayonet. The hardware and wood set is good to excellent condition ( for an 84 year old rifle) and as far as I can tell, completely original from the factory. Bolt, receiver, Barrel, rear sight and nose cap are all matching numbers. The magazine isn't matching numbers but is RFI stamped. The bayonet is the short 12 inch "Indian Pattern" which I believe is a 1943 made bayonet. There are some visible repairs to the butt stock, maybe field repairs or post military use - I don't know. I can't make out the markings on the underside of the butt stock but it doesn't appear to be English or Latin script, possibly Punjabi, Bengali or Burmese. The barrel is probably nearing the end of it's life but I have taken this rifle to the range numerous times and it shoots fine with pretty good accuracy at 100 yards. I didn't really want to sell this one as it's a great historical piece, but I need to reduce the amount of Rifles and spare parts I have. PAL required etc - let me know if you have any questions or want more photos. Collection from Summerland BC preferred but shipping/post can be arranged at buyers cost.

Length: SMLE No. 1 Mk III: 44.57 in (1,132 mm) Barrel length: SMLE No. 1 Mk III: 25.2 in (640 mm) In late 1915 the Mk III* was introduced incorporating several changes, the most prominent of which were the deletion of the magazine cut-off mechanism, which when engaged permits the feeding and extraction of single cartridges only while keeping the cartridges in the magazine in reserve, and the long-range volley sights. The windage adjustment of the rear sight was also dispensed with, and the cocking piece was changed from a round knob to a serrated slab. Rifles with some or all of these features present are found, as the changes were implemented at different times in different factories and as stocks of parts were depleted. The magazine cut-off was reinstated after the First World War ended, and not entirely dispensed with in manufacturing until 1933. The SMLE Mk III* (renamed Rifle No.1 Mk III* in 1926) saw extensive service throughout the Second World War, especially in the North African, Italian, Pacific and Burmese theatres in the hands of British and Commonwealth forces. Australia and India retained and manufactured the SMLE Mk III* as their standard rifle during the conflict, and the rifle remained in Australian military service through the Korean War, until it was replaced by the L1A1 SLR in the late 1950s.The Lithgow Small Arms Factory finally ceased production of the SMLE Mk III* in 1953.

Here you have a nice used example of something that was used during the war. Recently gone through and cleaned. Everything operates as it should. The bolt and breach do not match. However, there is a Canadian marked 1942 sling that is original. The markings are very faint. The pistol grip and  stock are marked with  C  arrow. The front site and front  stock  have the LB stamped Steele. This is a five groove barrel in very good and clean condition. C-arrow  is also stamped on the breach. There are a few bumps and bruises to be expected from the age of this rifle. Outside of that you have something that should function and last another very long time. These are incredibly rare, it's in fantastic shape, shiny bore, and an original sling not a repro the bayonet lug is unmarked though and all the history is as such.  1941 duv K98k was likely captured or surrendered after WWII.Instead of being destroyed or exported immediately, it was: Inspected Possibly re-barreled or cleaned up Reissued to DDR police or military The W in starburst/shield marks it as part of the DDR’s official arms inventory.  these are incredibly uncommon, and east german stuff is highly collectable i can ship but I highly suggest getting insurance. WW1 Swiss Model 1914 Pioneer Sawback Sword bayonet Sawback sword bayonet for use on the 7.5 mm. Schmidt-Rubin M1911 carbine and the M1931 Short Rifle (K31). The M1914 has a swell-point blade profile, where the blade is wider at the point than at the ricasso. The 1914 blade is fullered on only one side. The right side of the blade has the initials HS stamped immediately in front of the guard for the Maker Hans Steimer With the Swiss proof mark stamped below the initials. The back of the blade has an aggressive saw blade which starts 1” in front of the guard and extends to 14” from the guard. The right side of the guard has the number 478681 stamped in it. The release button works as designed. The scabbard is in good condition with the original leather attachment strap included. This bayonet was manufactured by Paillard with their mark stamped on the end of the scabbard. Overall Length – with blade in scabbard - 25” Length of Bayonet – 23 7/8” Length of Grip including the Guard – 5” Blade Length – 19 3/4” The M1914 was issued to select troops. When equipped with K31 rifles, the M1914 bayonet was issued to: —Engineers; —Driver corporals and mounted artillery sergeants; —Blacksmiths, blacksmith private first class or lance corporal, blacksmith sergeants; —Horse transport soldiers, PFCs, corporals and sergeants; —Saddle makers; and, —Drivers for motorized field artillery, howitzers and heavy howitzers. Original Brazilian Mauser M1908 WW1 Bayonet by W K & CIE Solingen Germany with Scabbard and Frog Used with the 7mm Brazilian Mauser Model 1908 The blade is marked W.K.&Cie Solingen. The Guard and Scabbard hook are stamped with matching serial numbers, M935. There is a B stamped on the left side of the pommel as well as on the back of the blade just in front of the guard. WW2 / Post war British No7 Mk1/L Bayonet & Scabbard. Made by BSA which had a smaller production run of only 25,000. The bayonet is is in excellent to VG condition but the blade has been sharpened and buffed. As such it is missing the bluing line at the base of the fuller and the sharpening  has removed some of the fuller there as well. The broad arrow mark is also obscured slightly. Bluing finish is worn at the cross guard from handling and wear but is excellent at the hilt / socket with only slight edge wear. Socket is stamped M47B, which is the BSA marking and there is a very faint "MADE IN UK" stamped on the other side. The scabbard is the original No5 Mk2 scabbard with brass throat and is in excellent condition with slight wear to the finish and no dents. Postage & packaging to Canada is $25 Tracked. Local pickup in St Albert. Not looking for trades at this time
