German Third Reich-era SA (Sturmabteilung) service dagger, also known as the Model 1933 SA dress dagger. The SA was the Nazi Party’s paramilitary “Brownshirts” organization. This ceremonial dagger (not a combat weapon) features: •  a wooden grip with an inlaid nickel-silver SA rune button and eagle emblem •  nickel fittings •  a double-edged blade etched with the motto “Alles für Deutschland” (“All for Germany”) •  a brown scabbard The design draws from 16th-century Swiss Holbein daggers. Your example has a brown-painted scabbard (common on later wartime production), solid nickel or plated fittings, and a wooden grip—typical for SA daggers (NSKK versions are identical except for black scabbards after 1936). The blade shows a faint marking near the ricasso (possibly a maker logo or RZM code), light runner marks, and some wear/patina, indicating age and use. No visible Gau mark (regional stamp) on the lower crossguard suggests it may be mid-to-late production (post-1935, when such marks were phased out). The handle that is fixed to the knife is reproduction, but it does come with the original handle which is shown in the last picture. 50th anniversary congratulatory message. These congratulatory messages are very rare because a 50th anniversary is a rare life milestone, paper documents degrade over the decades and congratulatory Nazi messages would often have been discarded after the fall of the regime. The German text reads: "I send you and your wife my warmest congratulations on the rare occasion of your golden wedding anniversary. I hope and wish that you may enjoy a long and untroubled retirement surrounded by your family. The Führer, Adolf Hitler." The Nazi eagle emblem and words "GOLDENEN HOCHZEIT" are rendered in gold ink and the Nazi eagle seal in the bottom left of the document is pressed into the paper. There are currently two listed for sale. Legacy Collectables $1250 US and Gettysburg Museum $1599 US (with a few extra paper documents). I prefer to keep these heirlooms in Canada, hence the pricing. All Swedish Mausers other than trials rifles were chambered for the 6.5×55mm Swedish cartridge, and all Swedish-made actions were proof-tested with a single 6.5×55mm proof round developing approximately 455 MPa (65,992 psi) piezo pressure (55,000 CUP).[4][5] Swedish Mausers were manufactured by Waffenfabrik Mauser AG in Oberndorf a/N in Germany and in Sweden by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori and Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag. All Swedish Mausers, whether built in Germany or Sweden, were fabricated using a Swedish-supplied high grade tool steel alloyed with nickel, copper, and vanadium, a product then noted for its strength and corrosion resistance. These rifles, like other pre-M 98 system Mauser rifles, lack the third safety locking lug at the rear of the bolt and feature "cock-on-closing" (similar to the contemporary Lee–Enfield rifle).
