The arrival of the main body of Indians in the early summer was one of the important events of the year at the posts along the shores of Hudson Bay. Andrew Graham, who was at York Factory for several years, has left us an eye-witness account of the elaborate ceremony that preceded the trading at York when the Indian canoe fleet arrived from the West. After they had landed at the fort and had been duly received by the governor (as the local officer in charge was known), the chief and his lieutenant were dressed up in European clothes and then escorted to the chief's lodge with much pageantry. "In front are the halberts and ensigns," writes Graham, "next to the drummer beating a march; then several of the Factory Servants bearing the bread, and prunes, pipes, brandy, tobacco, and the beaver coats of the chief, which he had on when admitted into the Factory. Then comes the Captain [chief] walking quite erect and stately, smoaking his pipe and conversing with the Governor and his officers; then follow the Lieutenant and perhaps a friend or two who was permitted to come in with the Chief." In the picture, the chief, attired in scarlet, with one red stocking and one blue, is seen walking with the governor in all his finery. The walls of the fort, rising above the palisade, are of squared logs covered with plaster. The red ensign bears the Company's coat-of-arms in the fly. Price $675. Can ship once paid. Cream Point Himalayan Kittens
Purebred Cream Point Himalayan Kittens – Ready Now! Free Delivery Available Please note: These kittens are meant to be indoor pets only. Due to their breed, they lack the survival instincts needed for outdoor life and are not suited for barns or free-roaming. We’re excited to announce that our beautiful litter of purebred cream point Himalayan kittens, born on March 31st, will be ready to join their new families starting June 1st, though we recommend giving them a few extra weeks with their mother for the best start in life These sweet, fluffy bundles of joy have been lovingly raised in a warm and caring home alongside a family of five. They are well-socialized, handled daily, and already litter trained and full of purr-sonality and affection! ~Boy~ This little guy is full of energy—he’s our most playful little adventurer and always finding new ways to get into mischief! But beneath all that spunk, he has a sweet side. When he’s in the mood, he absolutely loves belly rubs and snuggling up in your lap for a cozy nap ~Girl~ This adorable girl is a total sweetheart! She’ll greet you every morning by weaving between your legs and softly meowing for love. At night, she’s happiest curled up next to you for snuggles. She’s calm, affectionate, and still has that playful kitten energy. Mom – Seal Point Himalayan (doll-face), incredibly sweet and affectionate, with a playful spirit and the curiosity of a kitten. Dad – Cream Point Himalayan (extreme-face), incredibly gentle and affectionate — he loves to snuggle and has the sweetest personality! Both parents have exceptional temperaments and are wonderful companions Not spayed/neutered – We recommend waiting until 6+ months of age. If you’d like more information, want to meet the kittens, or are interested in seeing additional photos of the parents, feel free to reach out!
