We're talking 4000 fps, point blank range of 250 yards, and 5 lbs of felt recoil. Gophers, dead. Coyotes, dead. Pigeons, dead. Typical grouping is under 1" @ 100 yards with factory ammo. The best I've done has been 3/8" @ 100 after some lengthy round development. As you might have noticed, this particular American has been kitted out with a Bell and Carlson stock (1053_97) and a AICS box magazine well (0050_00). The Ruger stock was a flimsy piece of furniture; this B&C is much better, more stable, and wasn't particularly inexpensive. If I were to buy this rifle new, exactly as is, it's be a $1700 touch after tax. I'm willing to let it go for $1000, firm. You won't be disappointed.
