Howdy Townpost. This is a nice little and fair conditioned pocket tip-up revolver, in .30 Rimfire. In the 19th century, XXX was used denote very strong malt liquor. So I think marlin was trying to market in the name that this is a stout little gun. Similarly done by Hopkins & Allen with the naming of their "XL" series of pocket revolvers. These were made by Marlin from 1873-1887 with a total of roughly 26,000 being made. They are essentially copies of the Smith and Wesson Model 1 1/2's and 2's. The mechanical condition of this firearm is excellent. The hammer and cylinder function reliably and as intended. Timing and lock up are excellent. The barrel is tight on the frame. This revolver was tuned by my gunsmith too. The bore is worn but there's some life left in it. There's frosting at the front of the cylinder and the forcing cone. The nickel is mostly present on the frame and the beautiful original rosewood grips are in excellent shape. The revolver is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide too.

Cal. 30-06. Serial# 4798918. Bbl.24". Marked behind front sight "SC" with a flaming bomb and "10-43." Aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Blade front sight. Swept bolt marked on top of handle "B2" and marking underneath appears as "F." Safety lug is Remington style, as is the bolt shroud. All stamped furniture, including large bow triggerguard and fine checkered trap buttplate. Walnut stock set with two recoil bolts. The grip is marked underneath with encircled "P" proof. Assembly marks are visible ahead of the trigger guard. CONDITION: stock set has a and bruises in its appearance commensurate with extensive service. There are numerous handling marks. The metal retains its original finish with some thinning and wear. Very good, shiny 4-groove bore. also comes with a leather combat sling. British Pattern 1853 socket bayonet with leather scabbard This is a British M1853 Socket Bayonet for use with the Enfield, Snider, Martini rifles. This 1853 pattern was the standard bayonet carried by nearly every British infantryman of the mid-19th century and widely used during the Crimean War, Indian Mutiny, and in numerous colonial campaigns. Production of the1853 pattern socket bayonet continued throughout the life of the Enfield Muzzleloader and the Snider rifle and was finally terminated in 1875. The blade has a slight downward curve to allow easier reloading while fixed to the muzzle-loading Enfield rifle. Measuring 44 cm (17 inches), it features a triangular cross-section with fullers on all three sides, tapering to a narrow, down-turned point. The blade is in good solid condition but is badly tarnished. The scabbard is in fair condition. The bottom brass below the frog hook is pulled free from the leather scabbard. The brass tip on the scabbard wiggles a bit but is still solidly attached. The stitching on the scabbard in the last 3 ½” above the end cap is partially missing but the scabbard is solid and not separating. The scabbard is stamped W.D. (War Department) below the frog stud with the Broad Arrow symbol above the initials. This stamping is difficult to see. The top of the blade at the base is stamped with an E over a crown over the number 25 Overall Length – with blade in scabbard - 21 3/8” Length of Bayonet – 20 3/4” Length of Grip including the Guard – 3 5/8” Blade Length – 17 1/8” $100.00 Thanks, Phil

Extremely rare Smith & Wesson No 3 chambered in 455 Eley with target sites and a 1-9/16 inch cylinder Was a special order. This revolver still retains about 75% of the original bluing it comes with a 7 1/2 inch barrel checkered walnut grips showing where but good condition no chips or cracks. The trigger set is amazing. This revolver is one of twelve ordered and shipped to Birmingham England in 1905, this revolver frame was produced prior to 1888 as documented and is considered an Antique status in Canada. Antique Belgium copy of a Smith & Wesson number three double action  in 44 Russian calibre.  finish on this revolver is a nice brown patina with no rust or pitting. The two piece hard rubber grips  good condition with no chips or cracks. The revolver will function both in single and double action, but the hammer can be pushed off  single action, the timing and lock up are good. This is an  antique revolver and you do not require a PAL to purchase it.
