This is a 1940 Ishapore made No 1 MK111 ( not a MK111*) with mag cutoff and period correct RFI stamped bayonet. The hardware and wood set is good to excellent condition ( for an 84 year old rifle) and as far as I can tell, completely original from the factory. Bolt, receiver, Barrel, rear sight and nose cap are all matching numbers. The magazine isn't matching numbers but is RFI stamped. The bayonet is the short 12 inch "Indian Pattern" which I believe is a 1943 made bayonet. There are some visible repairs to the butt stock, maybe field repairs or post military use - I don't know. I can't make out the markings on the underside of the butt stock but it doesn't appear to be English or Latin script, possibly Punjabi, Bengali or Burmese. The barrel is probably nearing the end of it's life but I have taken this rifle to the range numerous times and it shoots fine with pretty good accuracy at 100 yards. I didn't really want to sell this one as it's a great historical piece, but I need to reduce the amount of Rifles and spare parts I have. Was used in my shed for a few years, when I moved I set up my stove differently. It’s supposed to transition from 6 inch single wall pipe, to double walled insulated stove pipe. This is supposed to be mounted in your ceiling, I used it through my wall of the shed as it never came with mounting gear etc. Bit banged up from the move & being stored. Browning 1885 in 30-06. 28 inch octagonal barrel. Made in 1998. Beautiful walnut with amazing fiddleback. The Browning high gloss finish shows something different at each angle. Never hunted with. Less than 10 shots ever fired. Excellent condition with fantastic wood.  Comes with the Talley base and rings in order to mount a scope. Scope not included. Cost on these parts alone is over $250 and they are hard to find. Does not come with the original box. It will ship in a hard case at no extra cost. The Browning 1885 is a fairly rare gun in general and it is very rare in 30-06. The most common high wall is in 45-70 which is traditional but no longer a proper hunting chambering in a very long barrel rifle given the effective range. For a traditionalist hunter, the 30-06 is a real hunting chambering that will outshoot most men. It is considered a highly accurate and true shooting rifle. PAL will be confirmed.
