The S8 wraps backwards over the barrel and makes the barrel look like a shorter barreled, suppressed firearm without doing either of those things. It is made out of a corrosion resistant stainless steel, nitrided black, for years of hard professional use. Although the linear compensator does not decrease the sound the firearm makes, it does direct that sound away from the shooter making the shooting experience a bit easier on the ears. The S8 compensator comes in 3 threading patterns: 1/2x28TPI (the .223 standard). 5/8x24TPI 1/2x36TPI The compensator requires a barrel diameter less than 1” with an unobstructed 2” of barrel behind the threads (before thing like gas blocks, front sight towers or bayonet lugs). If you have things like front sight posts that prevent a wrap around comp, consider the S9. The S9 was developed when customers running the ruger PC or the RDB couldn't use the S8 due to its wrap back design. The S9 is threaded in 1/2x28tpi Also shown is the S8 with a few barrel lengths combined with our HG handguards. WARNING: messages sent through townpost are not getting through. The DRS-NV (Digital Rifle Sight-Night Vision) is a red dot and digital night vision fusion sight that combines Holosun’s red dot sight technology with digital night vision capability. DRS-NV features an LED MRS (Multi-Reticle System) with three digital reticle options, 1024x768 resolution digital night vision sensor with up to 60fps, 8x digital zoom, digital image and video recording with on-board storage. The DRS is powered by two 18350 rechargeable flat-top batteries with 6 hour run time in full function mode and 8 hours of run time in observation mode. An onboard magnetic coupler connects DRS to USB power for charging the batteries or to a PC for downloading of recorded images and video. DRS-NV units amplify light to improve low light visibility. Moonlight and starlight provide sufficient lighting in most cases, however, during periods where cloud cover blocks moonlight and starlight, an external infrared (IR) illumination source is needed. Holosun recommends one of our laser devices with IR Illumination such as the LE321, or LS321. Verify your local and/or state laws before attaching and IR illumination device to a firearm with a night vision device. Notice 5/6/2024: An updated user manual is available on this product page for download. Page 16 has been updated to reflect an Auto-Off function instead of a Shake Awake function for the camera.
