It is very interesting example of 1873 French Service Revolver that was converted to 45ACP / .455 Webley caliber which was readily available during WW2 and was considerably more powerful than original and hard to find 11mm ammo. This one is in excellent original condition, all the markings are sharp and complete. The serial numbers are repeated on all components: the barrel, cylinder, frame, grips, internal mechanism parts and even the screw heads and escutcheons. Everything matches. The bore of the 4 1/2 inch barrel is as perfect and it is mirror bright and the rifling is sharp. The action is excellent and accurate and very smooth, the cylinder indexes and locks properly with no play. The walnut grips are excellent and show no damage this one looks like new. The word Paragon means, “a model of excellence”. And this is true of this optic series. I see the Paragon as being the technological descendant of the old Bellorussian PK-AS sight, a one power prism sight that through innovative use of lenses, seems to have a nearly non existent edge when you look through it. Thick opaque edges serve only to limit situational awareness. Competing brands and their prism sights are a miss due to large knobs… they are “good enough”. Howdy Townpost! I have a truly amazing one of a kind piece here for sale. I bought this for myself in the US over a year ago and I had it professionally restored and fully repaired. I am now looking to sell it. John Forbes, of Liverpool, was gunmaker to His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, later King George IV. And according to my research made mostly dueling and target pistols, and some small pocket pistols for only 5 years. Those years being 1805-1810. He spelt his name with I or Iohn and later switched the spelling to a J or John based on public records and some of the other examples of his dueling pistols that have sold at auction. That makes this a very rare and finely made pistol. This pistol would have cost a small fortune at the time it was made. Oftentimes dueling pistols come in pairs but it was cheaper to buy just one if they were offered as a single, and should you encounter someone who has insulted your honor and you demand satisfaction from them, they can bring their own pistol to the duel. The engraving is extremely fine, intricate and skilled. It would have taken many dozens of hours to complete and it was all done by hand. The engraving features drums, banners and spears, floral patterns, sunbursts on the base plate and lock, and a pineapple in the front of the trigger guard, which symbolizes wealth and status. Because this gun is a percussion conversion of the original flintlock mechanism the percussion hammer is engraved in a different style by a different engraver in a more simple floral and fish mouth style of engraving with gold inlay. Every screw is engraved to look like a flower and the escutcheons are also each engraved like a wreath. Overall there is a lot of fine detail with some simpler and less detailed later additions on the percussion mechanism and one spot on the side plate. The gun features gold inlay on the hammer which largely worn away. There is silver inlay on the outside of the breach, and a sterling silver wreath styled band wrapped around the base of the grip and a sliver bead front sight. The ramrod tip (which is a replacement) is silver plated brass, so too are the front stock cap near the muzzle, the rod pipe, cross key, and escutcheon around it are too. The grip baseplate is silver plated steel. The workmanship of this pistol is certainly of a quality of gunmaker worthy enough of being the gun maker of the Prince of Wales. Single axle with functional tail gate made from a 1975-78 truck box and frame. It has a hitch for a 2” ball, functioning factory lights (4 ways, brake & signal lights) just like it was a functioning truck(no aftermarket lights or brackets to mess with. Tires are ok for now, 15” 5 bolt rims on the trailer with an additional set of rims to go with trailer. I have a brand new jack stand to go with as well but have not been welded it on yet. Hitch secure chains included as well as a brand new trailer plug installed, as the last one corroded from sitting too long. No padlocks or hitch locks included in the sale. Trailer bed has got some surface rust and can be cleaned up with a wire brush or sand blaster and resurfaced with tremclad paint or a rubber coating. Pulls very nicely on the highway or gravel roads. This is an original Japanese army officer’s sword in Shin Gunto mountings from World War 2. The blade and the fittings are in Near MINT condition. It is a healthy sword and has a blade length of 26.25 inches (67cm). The hada is a tight and visible itame. The hamon is a straight suguha hamon that is present the length of the blade ending in a maru boshi. The tang is signed Yoshimitsu. It is dated Showa Jyu Hachi Nen Shichi Gatsu, or July 1943. There is a Na acceptance stamp on the tang. Yoshimitsu was a member of the well-known Seki school that made many war era swords. The mountings are Type 98 Shin Gunto and in Near MINT condition. The tsuka is silk-cord wrapped with cherry blossom menuki. The wrapping is tight and there is little to no fraying. There is a blue/brown company officers tassel attached to the tsuka. The tsuba is the classic WW2 design with four accompanying metal seppas. The saya (scabbard) is green painted metal. It shows one very small dent and very few areas of missing finish, displaying roughly 98-99% original finish. There is a locking mechanism present. The blade is in Near MINT condition. There are no nicks, a few scattered small spots of rust, and some small scattered scratches. There are no major flaws like hagire.
