This is an original WWII-era Canadian “Crash” tanker helmet (officially known as the Helmet, Crash, Tank Battalion), a rare piece of Canadian armored forces gear produced in limited numbers (around 12,000 total) starting in 1940. It features a cloth-covered cork shell (painted black), rubber side vents, a web suspension liner, leather chinstrap, and the distinctive leather “scrum” (headphone holder) laced and buttoned underneath for radio equipment. These were primarily used by tank crews in Canada (not issued overseas) and remained in service until the 1960s. Your example appears complete, with visible wear and patina consistent with age and use, including some cracking on the shell and scrum—common for these due to the materials. The CAF has officially announced that the P320 will be used by the CAF as well. This airgun was originally bought last year for $185.24, and $23.74 for the two extra rotary belts, listed price reflects taxes, as well as comparable current price elsewhere. Camouflage Canada website sells extra of the magazines, which I could not find when I originally bought this, in case you would rather swap entire magazines, rather than rotary belts in one magazine, for more realism. While it is not as realistic as it could be (no slide lock, airgun slide disassembly, magazine with rotary belt, etc.), the main appeal as a training weapon is the realistic weight for dry fire, form, and draw/holster practice. This is a .22 competition target Vickers rifle made in the 1930s, some time between 1934 and 1939. It is a 44 1/2" long, quite heavy beast with the Vickers signature 'relieved' barrel-to-fore stock mounting, apparently to enhance the accuracy. It utilises the narrow, falling block, Martini-type action. The bore is bright and shiney, with crisp rifling. It has competion-type fore and rear sights. Overall it is in good to excellent shape. The only thing of note is that at some point a previous owner drilled a line of holes underneath the forestock, which have been filled. The images give an idea of the overall condition of the rifle.
