Kimber of Oregon Model 84 Classic in .223 Kimber of Oregon Model 84 Classic in .223 SERIAL NUMBER 2596 BARREL 22" CALIBER .223 REMINGTON Price Reduced: $2300 History The Kimber of Oregon Model 84 in .223 Remington is a highly regarded, lightweight bolt-action rifle, known for its Mauser-style controlled round feed, high-quality wood stocks, and accuracy. This rifle is an original, being manufactured in Colton, Oregon by the late Greg Warne’s Kimber of Oregon company between 1980 and 1991. Initially produced out of Clackamas, Oregon, the company re-located to Colton, Oregon in 1988. Following this time period Kimber was purchased and rebranded as Kimber of America (1993 – 1997), and then in 1997 was purchased again and re-named Kimber Mfg. out of Yonkers New York with different backers and interests (source NRA American Rifleman). Kimber Mfg. has nothing to do with Kimber of Oregon besides the name. Kimber of Oregon Model 84 rifles chambered in .223, particularly those from the early Clackamas or Colton, Oregon, production periods (1980s–early 1990s), are considered rare and highly collectible in Canada. While Kimber of America and Kimber Mfg. rifles are more common, the original "Kimber of Oregon" rifles represent a limited production run often sought after for their high-quality wood and craftsmanship. Larger calibers are more common in Canada, however smaller calibers such as the .223 are becoming more and more difficult to locate and own. This Rifle The stock on the rifle for sale is a beautiful one-piece American walnut stock with a rosewood forend cap, capped pistol grip, checkered steel butt plate, fluted straight comb and sling studs front and rear. Additionally it has been fitted with bases. It is in very fine condition with an excellent bright bore. The rifle retains most all factory finishes with little indication of use other than a few minor scratches and bruises. The 22” barrel is a high polished blued and shows only very minor wear at the muzzle. On the range the rifle was a tack driver at 100 yards with a consistent 1" grouping. Asking Price A gun collector (at the April Gun Show) in Calgary that was very well versed in the Kimber history advised me that a collector would pay $2800 for this rifle. I'll throw in a decent scope and all my .223 ammo as well (approx 100 rounds) My ask is $2300. | $2300 | Apr 9, 2026 |
