The S8 wraps backwards over the barrel and makes the barrel look like a shorter barreled, suppressed firearm without doing either of those things. It is made out of a corrosion resistant stainless steel, nitrided black, for years of hard professional use. Although the linear compensator does not decrease the sound the firearm makes, it does direct that sound away from the shooter making the shooting experience a bit easier on the ears. The S8 compensator comes in 3 threading patterns: 1/2x28TPI (the .223 standard). 5/8x24TPI 1/2x36TPI The compensator requires a barrel diameter less than 1” with an unobstructed 2” of barrel behind the threads (before thing like gas blocks, front sight towers or bayonet lugs). If you have things like front sight posts that prevent a wrap around comp, consider the S9. The S9 was developed when customers running the ruger PC or the RDB couldn't use the S8 due to its wrap back design. Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1821 Canadian Artillery Officer's Sword – no Scabbard Savage and Lyman Montreal Sword This company name was used by the Montreal silversmiths Savage and Lyman between 1868-1878. The left side of the blade immediately in front of the guard Is marked Savage & Lyman Montreal Within the engraving on the left side is a Crown.  Believed to be indicative of Queen Victoria. The right side of the blade has a small brass insert which says PROOF.  Wilkinson Sword introduced these Proof Discs in 1844. In the engraving on the right side of the blade is the word ARTILLERY The guard is steel and has fish skin wire bound grips with most of the fish skin having been worn away.   Length of Sword – 40 1/2” Length of Grip including the Guard – 5 1/2” Blade Length – 34 1/2”   Savage & Lyman Montreal (or Savage & Lyman and Company) were manufacturers and suppliers of swords, known for military pattern swords like those for Canadian militia units (e.g., 1st Battalion Chasseurs Canadiens), marking them as producers/sellers, though like many firms, they likely had blades forged elsewhere (perhaps by specialists like J. Howdy Townpost. I am selling this Remington 3.5inch Super-Mag that I picked up from BassPro in Calgary. I never got around to shooting it but I got a deal on it so I'm willing to let it go for cheaper than usual. This was a store demo gun, which essentially means it was dry cyled and shown to customers a few times. It's more or less a brand new shotgun. There's hardly any wear on it with the exception of some cosmetic blemishes from some small patches of surface rust that formed on the parkerized receiver. I suspect they never oiled it and peoples hands or just some moisture caused it. I cleaned it off and oiled the whole gun. It's pretty smooth even though it's a new gun and hasn't been broken in. The rubber recoil pad is still nice and soft The date code looks like AJ so it's a 2015 production. It was kicking around BassPro for almost 11 years! These regularly retail for $750+tax but occasionally go on sale for $650+tax. So I think $630 with no tax is not a bad deal for an essentially brand new shotgun. The shotgun is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide on the buyer's dime. It's pretty short when broken down, and is light so it should be relatively inexpensive to ship. If you live in Alberta I do get around the province a fair bit throughout the year, so if I happen to be heading to your area maybe we can do a meet up along the way on my travels to save you the shipping costs.
