Responsibilities: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service, Load and unload goods, Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Perform emergency roadside repairs, Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle, Perform preventive maintenance, Receive and relay information to central dispatch, Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Transport and handle dangerous goods. Looking for a hobby to take up that will get you outdoors more? Just want to be safe and legal? Inheriting Grandpa’s old shotgun? Interested in going hunting next year so you can bring home a nice goose for Christmas and Thanksgiving? We teach the Canadian Firearms Safety Course, the course you need to be able to apply! We teach both the Non Restricted and the Restricted courses. We have group classes and if you are not comfortable being in a group we can offer one on one course. We are available for most Weekends, Weekdays and Evenings (please note weekend classes fill quickly). Call us at 403-885-5206 for available dates and to book your spot. Current Classes: Non Restricted – Saturday, September 7th – 10am at the Community Activity Centre in Joffre Restricted – Sunday, September 8th– 10am at the Community Activity Centre in Joffre Non Restricted – Sunday, September 15th – 10am at the Community Activity Centre in Joffre Non Restricted – Saturday September 21st – 10am at the Community Activity Centre in Joffre Non Restricted – Saturday, September 28th – 10am at the Community Activity Centre in Joffre Restricted – Sunday, September 29th– 10am at the Community Activity Centre in Joffre Courses are limited to 10 people per course so book early to ensure your spot.
