7x57 (7mm Mauser) built by H. Berg on a Mauser 98 Action from Flensburg (NE Germany).  Specs:  24" Barrel using Bohler Spezial Austrian Steel (not sure the twist rate). Walnut Stock, 3-position safety, double-set triggers (roughly 5.5 lbs & 2.5 lbs).  Flip-Up express rear sight.  This is a "Hunting Gun" and shows typical scuffs, scrapes and minor dents throughout.  The receiver has NOT been drilled & tapped.  The test target shown was only at 25 yards, just to prove that the gun shoots well.  On the underside of the barrel is bare metal (32 mm X 6mm) where I believe there was a mounted front swivel on a plate.  There is no swivel on the fore-stock but could easily be installed.  The barrel is clean & bright with good rifling.  This would be a great quad gun or open sight deer stalking rifle through the woods.  I'm selling because I have four other 7X57's and trying to reduce my collection. Easily accommodates 2 rifles ( see photos ) ...... a great metal gun case ( if somewhat heavy construction ) which I purchased to hunt overseas. It has not seen much use ( actually only  1 flight on a hunting trip to New Zealand  carrying both a Malcolm scoped 16 lb., 32" barreled Sharps long range and an a scoped 10 lb. mid range ) , as well as a dozen or so trips by car to various gun shows in North America, at which I used to display various select arms from my Sharps and Remington Rolling Block collection. The sturdily built case weighs about 17.8 lbs. by itself and measures 53 1/2 " x 13 1/4 " x 4 1/2" . I have tried my best to photograph and show the few dents on both sides of the case. These are now in the $600 plus price range for a new one. YES, both keys still come with it!   I am willing to ship at buyer’s expense, or offer local pick up --- I am also in Red Deer one day per week and can arrange to meet there, or enroute, for delivery.

I have a nice clean 1945 Sporter 303 British (S/N U39399) with a brass butt plate, leather sling with swivels, 4 detachable magazines, rifle case, trigger lock, Aimsport 3-9 x 32 scope (made in Japan). Rifle bore shows slight pitting but good crisp rifling, as per bore scope pic. Mechanically, everything works just as it should. Trigger breaks like glass at 4.5 lbs. Comes with everything needed (including ammo shown) to go for your next hunt. This rifle belonged to friend who no longer hunts. He had the rifle for over 40 years. It belonged to his uncle prior to being passed down. Other than that, I don’t know anything else regarding its history. Thanks for looking, text is best for the quickest response.
