I have for sale a very nice Ruger 96.  It is chambered in the 44 mag cartridge.  It is in very nice condition. The blueing is close to excellent and the wood is very good with a bit of wear from use and a few very small bumps and nicks but nothing bad at all. The bore is excellent and the rifle functions exactly as it was intended to. I have fired this rifle and found it to be extremely accurate and easy to shoot. The case coloring on the lever is very nice. We're talking 4000 fps, point blank range of 250 yards, and 5 lbs of felt recoil. Gophers, dead. Coyotes, dead. Pigeons, dead. Typical grouping is under 1" @ 100 yards with factory ammo. The best I've done has been 3/8" @ 100 after some lengthy round development. As you might have noticed, this particular American has been kitted out with a Bell and Carlson stock (1053_97) and a AICS box magazine well (0050_00). The Ruger stock was a flimsy piece of furniture; this B&C is much better, more stable, and wasn't particularly inexpensive. If I were to buy this rifle new, exactly as is, it's be a $1700 touch after tax. I'm willing to let it go for $1000, firm. You won't be disappointed.
