Old barrels like these can be unsafe and should be checked by a gunsmith before using. The gun is in need of repair as it sits.The rear hammers don't hit the firing pins, there is a wood chip near the hammer are are swollen a little bit. See pictures. This 12g is in good shape for being made around 1907. It’s made by Marlin for the National Fire Arms Co and is identical to an 1898 model Marlin for TakeDown steps. Some say it’s a Model 21 Marlin. We have left the investigation to the new owner as well as the safety to shoot this nearly 120 year old shotgun is your responsibility. There is an old wrist repair that was well done and still solid. Make a great display piece, and comes with 1 brass 12g case with primer. Has a great patina on receiver, 50% blue remains on barrel. Consignment sale: Selling/trading an Argentinean Mauser Model 1909 in 30-06 that was part of world renowned gunsmith Martin Hagn's personal collection. Has a 23" Hammerli barrel marked with Martin Hagn along the top. Metal work was done by Martin, colour case hardening was done by Turnbull Restoration, engraving done by MRM Engraving which includes all small parts including each individual screw head. Has a trap door grip cap which holds spare iron sights within it. Gold "Hagn" inlay ontop of the receiver, an inset pin at the tang commemorating his trophy bull harvested in Sweden, and a gold monogram on the underside of the butt. Stock work was also done by Martin and includes an ebony forend. Comes topped with its original iron sights as well as quick detach claw mounts with a Zeiss Diavaari 1.5-6x42mm scope with German #4 reticle. J. Steven’s A&T Co. Chicopee Falls APR 17 93. Neat break down gallery gun looking thing. Single shot falling block. Pull the lever down and a round can be loaded. Hammer then cocked to fire. Hammer spring is strong. Extracts well. Bolt underneath unscrews a bit and then the barrel can be taken off. It has had a repair done on the receiver. Best I can tell it’s made between 1893 & 1939. Not sure if I’ve ever actually shot it lol. It’s worn. Be lucky to find any blueing left. It has been loved and used for a long time before I got it. Can ship anywhere on buyers dime.
