Husqvarna Commercial M96 Mauser 9.3x57mm Mauser Made 1942

Howdy Townpost. I have for sale a nice old Swedish commercial hunting rifle made in 1942. 

I'm not entirely sure of the exact model designation of Husqvarna sporter but they're all pretty similar. Pre 640 series? 

Essentially what this is is a M1896 Swedish Mauser action rifle. It is chambered in the 9.3x57mm Mauser cartridge. Which is literally just a 8 mm Mauser case necked up to .366 caliber.

Has a nice set of iron sights. It's a simple u-notch rear sight, with a bead on post front sight as pictured. You could always add a side rail scope mount which this is tapped for, or just drill and tap the receiver and put some Weaver bases on it. As a note I think this is drilled for a German style side mount with the 3 inline holes.

These do have stripper clip guides so you could use 8 mm Mauser type stripper clips. But I haven't tried so I can't confirm that. 

These hold five rounds. Have a flag safety and feature a set of European style small loop sling swivels. 

Over all the stock is actually in pretty good shape. The checkering on the grip is very sharp and gives you a good purchase on the stock. There is a couple of good dents and dings in the wood, but nothing that couldn't be fixed if you so desired. It's a nice piece of Walnut, it has good colour and age to it, a good figure or grain to it as well. There is a small hairline crack (pictured) at the rear of the receiver where the tang/wrist is.

The metal is in overall very good shape. The trigger guard and magazine floorplate show some bluing loss, which could be touched up with some cold blue if you're inclined to do so.

It has the original plastic butt plate free of cracks. And plastic grip cap as well for that matter.

It has an excellent bore. Clean sharp and defined lands and grooves. Some slight wear maybe but still very strong. Much more than I would expect from an 84 year old gun.

The rifle is located in Southwest Calgary, Alberta for pickup. I am more than happy to ship. That is on the buyer's dime of course.
