This is a scarce Belgian government Brevet Nagant 1883 revolver in 9mm, made pre-1893 and in top shape. It has service history, with the unit marks on the left side (4 and "A" in box which refers to the Belgian school of artillery) and the 448s are post-production gov't inventory labelling while the 33xx is serial. As a pre-1898 antique, this handgun requires no registration or other processing to buy or use.

I'm selling because I don't really use it, and I know to someone this revolver will be bring more joy. It is in a 9mm Nagant chambering. Based on trying a round in the chamber, .41 magnum brass, if shortened, seems like it would work perfect with a .38 caliber round as a substitute. It happens to chamber and shoot .38 S&W short rounds if you wrap the brass with some masking tape or similar wrap to ensure appropriate headspace and prevent belling of the brass. I have cherished this revolver for a few years now but it's not getting much appreciation - I have only ever shot 1 full cylinder of 6 rounds and it was extremely accurate. According to mixed accounts from internet forums there are ways to reload the 9 mm Nagant from .30-30, .41 LC, .41 Magnum, or .38-55 brass, but that's outside my domain of expertise. I can do some caliper work to confirm case and bore dimensions if wanted, but regardless the .38 solutiob works.

This revolver is in amazing shape with fantastic finish and clean surfaces. Fire-blue on loading gate spring. Action is tight and reliable single action only, which was an intentional design shift from the typically double and single action precursors to make mechanics more reliable. This revolver is nearly identical to the 1878/86 for reference. Function is incredibly smooth in SA with reliable indexing and tight lockup which will make for amazing shot consistency.

I sold a Brevet Nagant in the same shape but in 7.5 mm (which took .32 Long) for $5950 earlier this year.
