Chihuahua Seeking Wonderful Companion Home.

We have a 6 year old chihuahua seeking a new home. He is UTD on shots, has had dental work done and is neutered. It would be best if the new owners got him microchipped as I did not do that at the time of his neuter. He is extremely small and dainty. Weighing a whopping 3.1 pounds. With that being said don’t think he won’t protect your house or property.

He is wonderful with all dogs and cats. I have traveled with him often bringing him camping, and to hotels with no issues whatsoever.

He is completely house trained. He does not like to go out in the winter to do his business but who can blame the guy? So he is uses pee pads during the colder months and has had no issues.

The reason I am looking for a new home for him is because he seems to be feeding off my anxiety. I do have extreme mental health issues. I know in the past my Great Dane also fed off my anxiety. He seems very anxious all the time. He also was diagnosed with Alopecia from our trusted vet. After he started to patches of fur. We tried everything from supplements to food changes. We got him (recommended by our vet) neutered because we thought maybe it was a hormone issue. I think at the end of the day he needs someone who is confident and does not have anxiety. Who can give him 100% of their attention.

We also are starting to travel more as a family outside of Canada and he does not do good when I’m gone for more than a couple days. This is also a contributing factor as we are going to Bahamas in December. Last year we went to Mexico and he had a difficult time with me being gone.

The ideal home would be some older who has children that are moved out of the home. He does not mind children but does better without as he has nipped at our daughter a few times here and there. Someone that will take him places, let him sleep in their bed and continue to just give him the best possible life out there. (I would also be open to a younger middle age couple without kids. Just NO kids please.)

He does need to be on puppy food. I feed him Acana (puppy). He’s always been on this and enjoys it. With the exception of a few treats while I’m cooking ! I find it really helps him maintain his weight.

He does need his nails trimmed every 3 weeks because he’s not a walker. He loves to be carried everywhere. He’s a true definition of a “purse” dog. I also bath him once a month. He doesn’t mind a good spa day.

He has never been kennelled once in his life. He also does not enjoy a collar and leash. Please don’t even try it’s not worth your time.

He also needs to wear sunscreen in the summer months due to his skin condition. Yes I know so boujee of him.
