Remington 740 Woodsmaster .280 Rem – First-Year 1957, Excellent Bore

Remington Model 740 Woodsmaster in .280 Remington, barrel-dated July 1957 — the first year of the .280 Remington cartridge.

Condition is very good overall, but I'll be straight: it's not mint. Bluing is deep and strong with honest handling marks from being a safe queen. What sets this rifle apart is inside — the bore is excellent, the bolt lugs look great, and the bolt face shows only what appears to be factory test firing. Appears unfired or extremely low round count. Pictures actually, don’t do her justice. Pretty old gal. Would look just as well in your collection, or in the deer blind.
