1903 303 British MLE Mk1* Magazine Lee Enfield "Long Lee" Sporter w/ 23 1/4" Barrel & proper 10 rnd Magazine

Boer War era MLE Mk1* in 303 British. Matching serial numbers on the action, barrel & bolt handle. British Navy owned rifle that was surplused from Storeroom #1 at the Chatham Naval Yard. It was professionally shortened to a 23 1/4" barrel and the barrel was turned down to lighten the weight and reduce the profile. Very nice stock chequering. Has the early Parker Hale style fish hook eye sling swivels.

Lee Metford / Enfield long tang butt plate, no cracks in the stock that I have found. Comes with the proper MLM / MLE 10 round fish belly magazine, chain eyelets have been removed. Bolt has the bolt cover installed for that classic "Ghost in the Darkness" Lee-Speed Safari Rifle look.

Overall good condition. Rifling is shiny and defined. 8 hash marks carved on the right forearm by the bolt hanger so it's had success taking something down. Finish / bluing is worn with age but present overall. There is some light surface rust flecks, as with all rifles of this era. I didn't oil the barrel for the pictures for clarity but I will be oiling and cleaning the surface prior to shipping. I have not shot the rifle, picked it up as a project for a carbine and found a proper LEC after.

Pick up in St Albert AB, shipping can be arranged at buyers expense.
