Are you a university student or recent grad looking to turn your passion for mental health into real-world experience? Make an impact this summer as a Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) Assistant by supporting proactive programs that help local youth build the resilience and wellness tools they need to thrive.

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is looking for an energetic, community-minded individual to join our MHCB team in Vegreville this summer. You’ll work alongside experienced staff to plan and deliver engaging summer programs for children and youth across the Vegreville community. As part of one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, you will join a team dedicated to providing endless opportunities for both students and staff to grow and discover their passions.

  • Working   24 hours per week (Monday -Thursday) July 6, 2026 to August 20, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A current university student or recent grad in Psychology, Child & Youth Work, Education or other Human Services field of study

  • Passionate about child and youth development.

  • Enjoys working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

  • Wants to gain hands-on experience in program delivery and community outreach.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Acceptable Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check (dated within the past 6 months)

  • Child Intervention Check

  • Valid Alberta driver’s license, with acceptable driver’s abstract
