The rifling lands in front of the chamber had separated from barrel for about 1.25" and 1 land was protruding into bore. Cut off 2" of barrel chamber end. Machined new barrel end to fit receiver tighter by .002" and rechambered for 22 short only. At range gun shot 1/4" - 5 shot group at 50 yds. shooting CCI 22 short - 27 gr. HP. Seems the rifling is not shot out but can not understand rifling land separation. UNIQUE -- NO WARRANTY or REFUND from LILJA. Call phone or e-mail only. No messages. Post 1896 Spanish Calvary Carbine, a great piece of history, has original barley leaf sights, all matching numbers on bolt, receiver and stock, rifle is still chambered in 7×57 Mauser. Awesome patina on stock and the rifling is in great shape for the age of the rifle. A great add to anyone's collection and it shoots amazing. Has a small crack on the butt of the stock.
