Ammo is available but sold separately. This one is compact concealed carry version of famous Colt M1877 "Thunderer" was made for self defense and fast action. With "bulldog" type short barre and no regular extractor on the side this revolver made for concealed carry and optimised for fast action. The action is strong and crisp, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly, without any play in the cylinder. The bore of the 2 1/2-inch barrel is excellent mirror bright with strong rifling. The black hard rubber grips are very good and undamaged. SN 82458. ​ History & Background The M1877 was Colt's first double action revolver. Colt insisted on inventing their own double action mechanism, partly because there were numerous patents for DA revolvers in effect, which Colt did not want to infringe upon, but also because they trusted their chief engineers William Mason and C.B. Richards to come up with an original design. For this reason, the M1877's action is like a Swiss clock: it is somewhat convoluted and complicated, and it has earned the nickname "the gunsmith's favorite" over time. The gun did enjoy tremendous popularity however, and was manufactured for 32 years, even after Colt had improved the mechanism and simplified it considerably in later years. The M1877 was available in three calibers - .32, .38 and .41, and was originally called "Lightning". Later collectors coined the name "Rainmaker" for the .32 and "Thunderer" for the .41. In Canada, only the .41 caliber gun with serial numbers below 107,000 is considered an antique, as the others are either exempt calibers, or made after January 1, 1898.

Colt M1889 "Navy" Double Action Revolver, .41 Long Colt, SCARCE 3-Inch Barrel​ This model is a marked departure from previous Colt revolver designs, and would be produced in a few variants from 1889 until 1907, with some 330,000 made. Many were sold to the US military. It has a counter-clockwise rotating cylinder with locking slots on the back. This one is in very fine condition with a scarce 3-inch barrel. It retains 100% of the nickel. Excellent, sharp markings, matching assembly numbers on all parts. Nice nitre-blue on the hammer and trigger. The action is crisp and strong, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly with no play on trigger pull. The bore is very fine and bright, with sharp rifling. The grips are very fine with no wear . SN 25842. History & Background This model is an important milestone in Colt handgun development, as it is the first American revolver with a swing-out cylinder mounted on a crane, a development which would become the standard for modern revolvers to this day. The 1889 cylinder mechanism was already "on the books" as early as 1880, based on designs of Colt engineers William Mason, C.J Ehbets and Horace Lord. It would take almost ten years for Colt executives to give the green light to manufacture this gun, and once it was available, the US government quickly took notice and ordered several thousand for the Navy. Colt adopted the name "New Navy" in honor of this order. The gun has an interesting counter-clockwise cylinder rotation and a locking mechanism which relies entirely on the two-pronged hand. The 1889 model would remain in production for 18 years. When it was first introduced in 1889, it met with no competition from the other major makers - Smith & Wesson were still heavily engaged in manufacturing top-break revolvers, and Remington only had their solid frame revolvers with removable cylinders to offer. It would take S&W another ten years before they had a viable alternative to Colt's design.

The this one was checked and tested for smokeless powder by gunsmith. This one was professionally modified to accept 45auto rim and .45ACP cartridges on a moon clip and also can be used with original .455 Webley ammo. The gun is in like new condition with everything tight and working like a Swiss clock and plenty of the original blue remaining. The action is accurate strong and very smooth. The cylinder indexes and locks properly without play. The bore of the 4-inch barrel is good and mirror bright, with sharp rifling. The grips are excellent and undamaged. SN 30929, very fine overall. History & Background Philip Webley & Son began making top break, hinged revolvers as early as 1880, with the Charles Pryse patented design they acquired for use on their Webley-Pryse revolvers. Soon thereafter an improved locking mechanism by Michael Kaufmann produced the Webley-Kaufmann design, followed by Webley's own improved "Government" model, or "WG". It was not until 1887, when the British military hoped to replace the Enfield revolver that the first "Mark" revolver model was introduced. The Mk I was soon followed by the MkII (1894), then III (1897), and eventually as many as six variations were made, between 1887 and 1949. The Webley top break "Mark" revolvers were probably the single most widely used side arm in the world, and were still in service as late as the 1970’s.

Smith & Wesson 44New Model No. 3 Top Break, .44 Russian Revolver. This one is in perfect condition with 100% of the finish intact. The serial numbers match . The action is strong and accurate, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly. The bore of the 5-inch barrel is quite good, with strong and sharp rifling. Mechanically in excellent condition with proper timing and lockup. The latch is also solid with zero play. Extractor works as it should. SN 17793, very good overall. History & Background Smith and Wesson's first double action design dates back to at least 1872 - years before Colt ever attempted a double action cartridge revolver. It was mentioned in a letter to the Russian envoy General Orlof, and although the sale to Russia never materialized, it served to pave the way for the very popular and successful line of double action top break revolvers. The .44 Russian model was actually the first to be produced as a prototype, and the last to be released for sale to the public. For this reason there exists a degree of confusion over the proper terminology: the first one to be manufactured for sale was the .38 caliber model, followed by the .32. The .44 caliber model was not released until 1881, and is variably known as the No. 3 Double Action, the Double Action "Navy" (a name Daniel Wesson wanted to keep alive to differentiate this model from the No. 3 single action, and still holding out hope to sell it to the Russian navy), and the First Model Double Action. Originally, the .44 Double Action was made with a 1 7/16 inch cylinder, however an optional .44-40 version was available as of 1886. This required a 1 9/16 inch cylinder, and a longer frame. The firm soon realized that it was too expensive and cumbersome to manufacture two different sizes of frames for what was essentially the same gun, and the shorter cylinder and frame were dropped in faivour of the longer one in the early 1890's. The No. 3 frame .44 double action top breaks were dropped from the Smith and Wesson catalogue in 1913.

WANTED( not by fhe “man”): to buy or sell gold old silver US/bullion valuables straight cash for single action/double action old antique six shootet styles or others for example the Peacemaker types and any others in good condition but need any sold to be compatible with current ammos in centerfire type rounds however it’s possible that it would need to come disabled ie without the pin installed to be actually legal also if it’s not registrable than it is grandfathered already and am willing to take any of these kinds off someone who has one they either had handed down or don’t want as I’m a collector of not just arms but relics and antiques that often get sold and hidden by museums or end up lost in some landfill or at best a hidden collection this is specifically meant to be for my family business as anything of that age and from historically permitted period percussion arms are a big part of my grandfathers original business as are shipwreck memorabilia. Most of these are over 100 years old anyway but the ammo should be relarively the same and purchasable. As modern specific arms currently have embargoes, though the laws will likely change and get better once our corrupt dictatorship is gone. With resignations owners and shops are essentially just waiting for the laws to change back or get even better just an fyi. i spoke to shop owners and gunsmiths directly who know more than most about the situation. I will only take direct trades and im not gonna transfer funds first to some scammer - and I need to see the quality also various calibers are still allowed and there are legal ways of transferring many older hand arms. The embargo is based on the recent makes not the caliber necessarily. I know the laws and am not interested in debating what is what because I already learned many times over what is still doable and allowed… Looking to buy or sell gold old silver US/bullion trade of valuables straight cash or both for older styles of single/action semiauto or double action revolvers ie Peacemaker colts are top of my list and single action is preferred in long or shorter barrel but decent enough calibers in other makes that are reliable enough to hunt with and yeah people hunt with good single actions due to accuracy and taking time, but for now its for safety in large property and target shooting obviously however i am also interested in short arms like the ranch hands with a full stock minimum and with a good ring/swivel or carry system even a decent strap w/quick release and back/side holster and belt or inner chest holster for for any antique or upgraded revolvers throughout 38/357 preferably for the smaller arms may be up for the classic .45 pissibly newer type semis in 9/45 …it all depends on what is good & you are willing to part with or have to sell/trade that is interesting though the older the better as a collector, grandfathered is again most preferred if its nonscript while still restricted there are still protections for us around that, used condition is fine as long as its a solid arm with no missing parts or kinks, bumps bruises scratches are fine within reason given character. ive been a Sr Cybersec and international investigator for 20+ years in the private sectors but worked closely with Dallas Sheriffs/S.S./FBI field offices and others like Interpol. due to my work and as much as they tell us it isnt a right in Canada its only because they twist our Charter around just because it doesn't specifically mention GUN protection at arms could mean stick and that is our governments ba argument remember that it is your right, besides you always lose your best ones on fishing trips they just fall into the lake constantly its crazy how that keeps happening to me. This is a functional scarce and unique Antique Galand Model 1868 single and double action Revolver. Designed for 7 mm Perrin which gives it antique status, this revolver happens to accept the nearly identical .32 S&W short cartridge which can be reloaded at a low cost, and can even be made from cut down .32 S&W Long brass. There are very few antiques that will accept this caliber, so this is a lucky find. Unlike most antiques which are big and heavy, this is a small frame and compact revolver which still shoots a reliable round. Overall length is 7 inches. Mechanics are fair, with a working action in both single and double action. The hammer is strong and indexing is reliable. The rifling is still strongly defined down the 3" barrel, with evenly scattered patches of inactive oxidation from black powder use. The Galand patented mechanism involves a very unique lever which pulls the barrel and cylinder straight forward while ejecting spent shells. All components of this work fine. As a revolver that's a century and a half old, some wear and wiggle is evident in the lever and hinge mechanism, but it still works consistently and properly. Visually this revolver has an even gray/blue surface with some bits of lustre showing beyond the aged patina. No significant pitting is evident, though scattered dings and scratches are present. The grips are solid, with the left one showing an old crack that could be pretty easily stabilized and closed back up. No PAL, 18+ Ships Canada Check my ads for more antiques. For sale is my a mechanically great, all matching, 1880 production short barrel "Shopkeeper" Colt Thunderer in .41 LC. Selling because cash is tight. As an Antique, this handgun is exempt from Canadian licensing and registration requirements, and can be used anywhere a nonrestricted firearm would be legal. Black powder or light load smokeless .41 Long Colt rounds can be purchased online or worked into deal. The 1877 line of revolvers was Colt's first double action model ever produced. They made almost 170,000 from 1877 to 1909 with three main designations: the Colt "Lightning" in .38 LC, the "Thunderer" in .41 LC, and the "Rainmaker" in .32. However, due to Canada's laws, only the .41 caliber ones are designated as "antique". This is luckily one of those guns, and it needs no registration or licensing to own. These models are highly collectible handguns, particularly the short barrelled "Shopkeeper" model due to its easy to stow nature. Arizona Wild West gunslinger Doc Holiday carried one of these. This particular example, SN 22261, was produced rather early in 1880 and has a short but accurate 3.5" barrel. All parts match, and the exterior retains an excellent 85% of the original nickel. The internal mechanics are incredibly clean and original. The bore is fair with strong defined rifling. Grips are nice like-new repros with rampaging Colt medallions. All hammer clicks are present, lockup is rock solid, and the trigger pull is pleasant in both SA and DA. The barrel is stamped with the Hartford Connecticut Colt address and the acid etched "COLT D.A. 41" is still visible. The left side of the frame displays the 3 line 1871, 1874, and 1875 patents. It reads "41 CAL" on the trigger guard. Webley & Sons circa 1896 chambered in .476 Eley and .455 Webley, and sold by the famed John Rigby & Co. in London. Established in 1775, John Rigby & Co remains to this day a staple of the fine firearms market. Their role in this piece's history adds even further to collector value. These revolvers were very popular private purchases among sportsmen and higher ranking officers around the turn of the 20th century up through WW1 as reliable, accurate, and elegant handguns. With an impressive 6" barrel and mirror-bore rifling, this is a collector's or target shooter's dream. I can add a box of 50 factory new Fiocchi Heritage .455 Webley rounds with purchase of the revolver if you have a PAL. If you don't want these rounds, take $100 off asking price. As a pre-1898 antique, this can be owned and used without any registration or headaches. Visually this revolver retains most of its original shiny dark blue finish with scattered minor loss from 130 years living. The trigger, hammer, ejector, cylinder release mechanism, and hinge screw have a shiny silver "in the white" finish giving a proud and bold contrast. The original checkered square bottom hardwood grips are solid, showing some minor dings and a tiny chip on the right. Sharply stamped "WG Army Model" on the top strap with calibers ".455/.476" Webley and Eley, and the W&S winged bullet logo on the left of the frame. The barrel is hand etched with the retailer address "JOHN RIGBY & Co. 72 ST JAMES'S St LONDON S.W.". The serial 13XXX places manufacture in the mid-late 1890s and makes this one of the most modern antiques you can get. The bore retains shiny, strong rifling with scarce patches of wear. The action functions excellent in single and double action, leaving nothing to be desired. The cylinder indexes and locks up with almost no wiggle for reliable firing and the timing is excellent. Comes with FRT antique papers and repro leather Webley holster. Can come with box of Fiocchi .455 Webley ammo if you have a PAL.
