Cook – Temporary Full Time Position
Description: Directly reporting to the Site Manager, the Cook is accountable for: Meal Preparation for approximately 50 residents, Serving Meals and Cleanliness of Food Services Area. This position entails a high level of interaction with seniors and requires physical endurance (e.g. maneuvering heavy pots, flour bags).
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
• Demonstrates an understanding of the Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating
• Knowledge of food ratio guidelines based on dietary requirements for seniors
• Demonstrates an understanding of dietary requirements for seniors
• High School Diploma
• Food Handlers Course
• WHMIS
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
The Pleasant View Lodge is a fast-paced environment with many repetitive tasks. The position can be physically demanding and attention to detail is important. This position requires a combination of standing & walking throughout the shifts.
Personal Suitability
The applicant must show initiative, effective interpersonal skills, flexibility and be a Team player. Excellent oral communication, Resident focus, interpersonal awareness, dependability, judgement, values and ethics; reliability as well as organizational skills are an asset.
