Construction and lift equipment TechJob description
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Shop Technician will be responsible for
performing routine repairs on equipment and machinery on a daily basis. The
Shop Technician must communicate well with the Shop Rentals & Service staff. The
Technician will be required to deal with clients in person and drive out for
equipment service calls.
Qualifications
โTrade school training: 3 years and higher.
โCandidates must have a high school diploma or GED
โAerial and general tools background preferred
โExperience working with Genie, JLG, Bobcat, and Skyjack equipment,
generators, small engines and Air compressors is an asset
โRelated maintenance experience a plus
โAbility to read, analyze and interpret service data in English
โAbility to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously
โGood communication and interpersonal skills
โPrevious experience and/or knowledge of the methods and procedures used
in the repair and maintenance of all types of vehicles and equipment
โAdvanced Mechanical aptitude: Diagnostics in electrical and hydraulics is
ideal.
โAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram or schedule form
โAble to handle frequent lifting and exposure to loud noises, dust, gas and/or
fumes
Responsibilities
โEffective and appropriate communication with Service Manager and staff on a timely basis.
โClear, effective documentation
โMaintain a clean and safe work area, and adhere to all safety procedures
โEnsure all company policies and procedures are followed
โPerform repairs on equipment, independently, with little or no supervision
โMaintain mechanical condition of equipment
โMaintain positive working relationships with all managers and fellow- employees
โAdditional duties/special projects as assigned
โGood personal hygiene, enjoys being on time
