The action is strong and accurate, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly without play. The bore of the 5-inch barrel is very good, with sharp rifling and mirror bright. The rosewood grips are very good and undamaged. They look like they may have been re-varnished once. SN 59474, very good overall. History & Background Horace Smith and Daniel Baird Wesson acquired Rollin White’s patent (1855) for the bored-through cylinder to manufacture what they originally called the No. 1 revolver in .22 rim fire. It proved to be a rather ineffective little pocket revolver but was nonetheless very popular with civilians as a personal protective weapon. In 1861, just as the civil war gained momentum, S&W decided that they needed a larger caliber revolver in order to be able to convince the buying public (many of them enlisted in the war) that their gun was a viable protective option and as a back-up gun in battle. The scaled-up design was duly named the No. 2 and was nicknamed the “Army”, as it was widely used by military personnel as a personal side arm. Smith & Wesson retained and defended the Rollin White patent aggressively throughout the civil war period, and until its expiry in 1870, and therefore the No. 2 “Army” would be the only American made cartridge revolver used during this conflict (although several “unlicensed” makers added their wares into the fray, such as Uhlinger, Pond and Moore). The model is called “Old Model” due to its frame shape – the square butt and octagonal barrel of the model 1 ½ First Issue, as compared to the bird’s head grip and round barrel of the Second Issue. There is no “New Model” Army. The "No. 2 Old Model" was a popular personal side arm of many officers in the Union forces during the American Civil War, and is also known as the "Army" model. It was first introduced in 1861, and made until about 1874. The "No. 2" refers to the frame size, "No. 1" having been the first, .22 caliber pocket revolver and the "No. 3"'s being the large-frame revolvers. The 1 1/2 was introduced after the number 2, and since it fits in between the no. 1 and no. 2, it was named the no. 1 1/2. All of this out of the way I hope I can find and deal with the right people potentially an old timer who has an older collection of my favorites like the antique 6 shooters single & double action, I have been searching for a good condition grandfathered type short barrel 38/22/44/ namely but not strictly I simply require or would like to meet or find a like minded person who is willing to part with a nice potentially original out of their collection to hand down ideally I am after makes and models like the Smith & Wesson/colt single army/Ruger and Taurus model types if we are speaking strictly collectors deep history antiques, Wanting ideally, a good .38 short revolver action that is either already no longer reg. traced or an updated 1930s-1960s model whether it a detective issue snub or a regular issue short barrel 6 shooter that still has a speed loader option or preferably a modified reconstruction and has a side gate loader for single rounds as these are the most utilitarian and essential esthetics. Good or some worn condition I’d expect in fact I prefer a good harms arm to have some wear showing it has reliability and is still fully calibrated and comes as is no need for bells and whistles just a feel good reliable piece that will out last another generation to come. If anyone is a serious owner and collector discreetness is also a right and key in this or any trade and I would hope to keep any dealings private as possible as is our God given rights as RPAL lifetime holders, my offers for a good piece and especially with its holster/belt and any extras I am open to trading some rare estate solid gold signet and precious gem men’s rings which from recent informal appraisals were multiple times the gold values even though the contents and purity are already above any nonsense from a sissy jewelry store chain. This is an original Japanese officer’s Samurai sword from World War 2 remounted in civil-styled samurai mounts. The blade is in Near MINT condition and the mountings are in Excellent condition. It is a healthy sword and has a blade length of 26.25 inches (67cm). The hada is a tight ko-itame. The hamon is a straight suguha hamon that is present the length of the blade ending in a maru boshi. The tang is signed Kinmichi. It is dated Showa Jyu Hachi Nen Roku Gatsu, or June 1943. Kinmichi was a member of the well-known Seki school that made many war era swords. The mountings are Civilian-styled and look to have been remounted on a sword that was initially intended for army usage. The mounts are in Excellent condition. The tsuka is wrapped in leather cord and looks to have been re-wrapped after the war with modern furniture. There is little to no fraying. The tsuba is iron with four accompanying seppa. The tsuba is a little loose. The saya (scabbard) is wood with a leather weathering cover. The leather cover is supple and well-aged, showing some cracking along the seams. The blade is in Near MINT condition. There are no nicks, little to no rust, and just a few scattered scratches along its length. There are no major flaws like hagire.

It is a healthy sword and has a blade length of 26.25 inches (67cm). The hada is a tight and visible itame. The hamon is a straight suguha hamon that is present the length of the blade ending in a maru boshi. The tang is signed Yoshimitsu. It is dated Showa Jyu Hachi Nen Shichi Gatsu, or July 1943. There is a Na acceptance stamp on the tang. Yoshimitsu was a member of the well-known Seki school that made many war era swords. The mountings are Type 98 Shin Gunto and in Near MINT condition. The tsuka is silk-cord wrapped with cherry blossom menuki. The wrapping is tight and there is little to no fraying. There is a blue/brown company officers tassel attached to the tsuka. The tsuba is the classic WW2 design with four accompanying metal seppas. The saya (scabbard) is green painted metal. It shows one very small dent and very few areas of missing finish, displaying roughly 98-99% original finish. There is a locking mechanism present. The blade is in Near MINT condition. There are no nicks, a few scattered small spots of rust, and some small scattered scratches. There are no major flaws like hagire.

For sale 12 gauge 2-3/4" chamber Stevens (Savage Arms Company, Chicopee Falls Chicopee, MA 01020 USA) pump actions shotgun model 77C ( same as Savage model 30, Springfield model 67), comes with 27"/28" plain (not vented rib) fixed full choke barrel, comes with original wood plug. Note these guns are also found in brand names of Savage, Springfield and Fox. These were made 1954-1971 this particular one was made before 1968. This gun was cold blued after (and poorly done), it has signs of wear and rust so once in a while when you first try to cycle the action it may initial stick slightly, probably needs a good cleaning and oiling, I will include a gun cleaning kit. It now has a front bead sight since pictures were taken. This Military Cooey Model 82 trainer from WW2 was used for drilling purposes, target shooting, Home Guard and Cadet training.There is a Stock Number and C broad arrow on the bottom of the pistol grip and a crest on the top of the receiver. The bolt also has the C broad arrow. Nice walnut stock with minor marks on the stock as can be expected on a training rifle. This rifle does not have a peep sight and was used as a training rifle for the Lee En-field No 1's. Bluing is very good bore is excellent. Comes with web sling $550.00.

The word Paragon means, “a model of excellence”. And this is true of this optic series. I see the Paragon as being the technological descendant of the old Bellorussian PK-AS sight, a one power prism sight that through innovative use of lenses, seems to have a nearly non existent edge when you look through it. Thick opaque edges serve only to limit situational awareness. Competing brands and their prism sights are a miss due to large knobs… they are “good enough”. But the nearly invisible edge of the PK-AS and later on the Paragon discarded the idea that “good enough” was actually “good enough” in regards to situational awareness. Unlike the PK-AS, the Paragon is designed to be small and light.
